Sustainability and wellness are at the heart of Frasers Property UK’s Winnersh Triangle and understandably it is at the top everyone’s agenda. Businesses are now considering it in everything they do, including their premises. We are finding an increasing number of potential occupiers are asking about the sustainability credentials of a building, and the business park.
As well as sustainable buildings, the landscape and environment that occupiers work in is important. Winnersh Triangle is 2* Fitwel accredited, this is an international accreditation for health and wellbeing. It proves our commitment to creating a better environment for people and wildlife at Winnersh Triangle and the surrounding areas. Last year, Frasers Property UK became the first company in the world to achieve a 3* Fitwel accreditation for Farnborough Business Park, something that we are now working on for Winnersh Triangle.
The Fitwel Commercial Site certification assesses holistic health including public access, pedestrian connectivity, proximity to open spaces like Dinton Pastures, outdoor fitness areas and community destinations. This is in abundance at Winnersh Triangle as we have outdoor walking trails, green public space and universal access for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
We also have health promoting events like our free bootcamp, and a state-of-the-art gym facility MOVE HQ, which has offered our occupiers free access to its entire timetable of classes for free throughout August. The provision of healthy food is also in abundance at the three Gather and Gather cafes, as well as the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Move HQ’s café that can be found on Eskdale Road.
Summer events
The Fitwel accreditation is the benchmark for developers tuned into the realities of what modern occupiers want and need. We have invested heavily in our business park to ensure health and wellbeing are integral to the design, development, and the operation of our buildings. Winnersh Triangle strengthens the connection between people and the places they live, work and visit. They are well-connected, have safe street infrastructure and our customers also have access to the gym, which is home to The Cabin and hosted a Dodgeball competition for the park. Recently, our occupiers enjoyed a free summer party. At the centre of The Green was a 12-metre screen, with free food and ice creams all washed down by Pimm’s and lemonade whilst enjoying Wimbledon on the giant screen. Our events from beekeeping to hanging basket workshops and more, all make Winnersh Triangle a fantastic place to work.
Net zero
At Winnersh Triangle, we are proud to be targeting net zero carbon by 2030, aligned with certification scheme Science Based Targets. This will be achieved through many efficient measures. These include 100% renewable energy and solar PV installations, as well as adding “No Idling” signs across the park, to encourage occupiers and visitors to turn their engines off whilst waiting to improve the air quality. Small changes can make a big difference.
