A WORLD of whiskey awaits this weekend as a popular tasting event returns to Reading.

The Whiskey Affair is to be held in the University of Reading’s Great Hall and presents an opportunity to try blends from across the globe.

The event includes a selection of Scotch, from smaller independent distilleries and bigger enterprises.

There will be bourbons from the United States, plus examples from the Netherlands, Sweden, Taiwan and Japan.

Experts will be on hand to help blend cocktails, and show people how to make the most of their tipple.

The event runs on Saturday, November 25, and there are two sessions: 1pm-5pm and 6pm-10pm. Entry is £9, and drink tokens are available offering five measures for £30. Most whiskies are one token each, but some rarer bottles will be two.
