Reading FC manager Ruben Selles believes his team are ‘moving forward’ after they added a point to their tally at Barnsley.
The draw means the Royals are now safe from League One relegation with two matches left to play.
Despite the result, Selles believes his side should have taken all three points.
“I don’t consider it a good point,” said Selles.
“I think we deserved the three points. They were a very good team in front of us and we did a lot of things well.
“We had chances to go and win the game and we didn’t take our chances to do it. So I don’t like the point I thought we deserved more.
“I think it’s a signal that we are moving as a team that we can come here and compete with our principles.
“Now we need to make one more step and finish the chances when we make them.”
Selles has now tasked his team to ‘finish the job’ heading into the final two games of the campaign.
He continued: “We need to finish the job. The season is not finished and hopefully, we will restart with things in place and energy to attack the next year.
“We’ve given everything during the season, and I am proud of how the team has been working and every individual in the football club.”
