The weather played havoc with the non-league football scene last weekend.
In the matches that survived, Westwood Wanderers remained unbeaten in the Thames Valley Premier League, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Burghfield at Denefield school.
Westwood, in second, and leaders Wargrave are just two of a dozen teams in the English non-league football pyramid who remain unbeaten in the league this season.
In the Combined Counties League Premier North, Wokingham Town are assured of action this weekend after several postponements. They will journey to Slough Town’s 3G pitch to take on Virginia Water, ahead of Tuesday night’s local derby at Scours Lane against rivals Reading City, weather permitting.
In Division One, Woodley United are third, and hope to return to action on Saturday at home to London Samurai Rovers, who sit just outside the play-offs.
In the Premier Division of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League, Finchampstead Ladies came from behind to win 6-1 against East Oxford Ladies. Ruby Huggings grabbed a hat-trick, with Isabelle Dawson (2) and Alice Kay also scoring.
In Division Three South, there were differing fortunes for Finchampstead Reserves, who lost 7-0 to a rampant Berks County at Bracknell Sports Centre.
