Reading FC manager Ruben Selles provided injury updates on his squad ahead of their final away game of the season.

The Royals are against relegation threatened Burton Albion before they host Blackpool next week in their final game.

Reading are likely to be without their captain Andy Yiadom for their final two games and may also be without Tom Holmes.

Yiadom is being treated for a knee injury which Selles hopes will be sorted during the end of season break and is optimistic that he will be ready to start pre-season.

“No, Tom (Holmes) had an incident a couple of days ago in training and has a low grade sprained ankle,” said Selles.

“He will miss this game and then he will see if he will be available for the last game of the season.

“Andy Yiadom is also not going to be available for tomorrow. I don’t think he will be available also for the last game.

“It’s an important procedure we need to do with him now and the sooner we do that, the better.

“He is still not fully available to play football matches so that makes the decision easier.

“We now want to be sure if he does the procedure that he starts his recovery for next season and can start the pre-season.

“He missed a big part of the pre-season last year and that gives you more risk to injury.

“So we don’t want to risk a 50/50 situation with him and want him to be available from the first day after the summer.”

However, Selles confirmed that Joel Pereira, who was subbed off against Barnsley with a cut above his eye, will be available for Burton.

He said: “The couple of doubts with Joel Pereira and Jeriel Dorsett, they will be available for tomorrow.”
