A SPECIAL playlist for you this week as our thoughts turn to the two big festivals taking place in Reading and Wokingham this weekend.

It’s music heaven for everyone. With so many bands performing, there really is something for all to enjoy.

All of the acts in this week’s playlist are appearing at Cantley Park this weekend and we think you’ll love them. Come along and find out. There is, of course, more to the festival than just the music and it is family-friendly.

You can hear these tracks when you tune in to our Spotify playlist. It’s free to listen to, simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstodayand enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

The BJ Bevy – Honey, Why I Treat You So Wrong?

We popped into the tent for the second stage last year at Wokingham Festival, when this band were playing, and were knocked out by the incredible atmosphere.

The place was jumping with the crowd dancing along to an energetic exciting live performance. The BJ Bevy were so good that this weekend they will be on the main stage and to coincide with that they have just released an excellent debut EP, God-Honest Man, from which this song is taken – https://www.facebook.com/thebjbevy/

Caravan – Golf Girl

It was great that the founding member of the band, Pye Hastings, took the time to chat with the paper ahead of their headlining appearance next Monday at Wokingham Festival.

Here’s a song from that classic album, In the Land of Grey and Pink, and it’s a wonderfully whimsical love song with lyrics that will always make you smile combined with Caravan’s unique musical sound.

It’s not often that legendary bands like this come to Wokingham so don’t miss this opportunity to see them live – https://officialcaravan.co.uk/

Camel – The Snow Goose

We don‘t usually include tribute bands in our feature as we like to focus on originals.

However, we’ve heard how good Skylines – A Tribute to Camel are and they are at Wokingham Festival on Monday.

That reminded us what a great band Camel are so here’s one of their original classics – https://www.facebook.com/skylinestributecamel

Tankus the Henge – Recurring Dream

Having seen how good this band are live when we saw them in Guildford Boileroom, we can’t wait to see them on a big outdoor stage when they headline Wokingham Festival this Sunday – https://www.tankusthehenge.com/

Spacehopper – Pure Essence (Dub)

Headlining on the same night (Sunday, August 27) as Tankus the Henge but on the second stage at Wokingham Festival will be the sounds of trance and dub with Spacehopper. However, don’t worry if you want to see both, the festival schedule ensures no band clashes – https://www.facebook.com/spacehoppermusic

Rocket Kings – Space Camp

This Reading band are at Wokingham Festival on the Sunday main stage.

They have a new album, Paving the Way, coming but while we wait for that here’s one from their last album – https://www.facebook.com/rocketkings

Kyros – Illusions inside

Kyros combine eighties pop elements alongside modern progressive rock sounds.

This is their new single on our White Star Records label and they will be at Wokingham Festival this Monday, August 28 – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Cities in Dust – The Other Son

Psychedelic electronica and indie rock band who will be live at Wokingham Festival on Saturday – https://linktr.ee/citiesindust

OSP – Call Me

OSP were one of the highlights of the Wokingham Music Club Stage at Wokingham Festival last year.

They have been asked back this year to appear on the main stage on the Sunday afternoon – https://www.facebook.com/ospmusicuk/

Rila’s Edge – The End

Up-and-coming excellent local indie band who headline the Wokingham Music Club Stage on Sunday – https://www.rilasedge.com/
