AN ADVENTURE from millions of years ago has landed on the doorstep of Reading residents today through augmented reality.
From today, residents will be able to take part in the Dinosaur Safari to take part in the hunt for dinosaur eggs and learn more about prehistoric life.
Players can hunt for ten dinosaur eggs by scanning QR codes on special window stickers, and each discovery reveals dinosaur facts and allows you to meet one of the dinosaurs through augmented reality.
Once all ten eggs have been found, a digital prize is also up for grabs.
Augmented reality trails are a good way to get out and about and boost daily step counts while learning more about nature, while taking part at your own pace in a family-friendly activity.
No app or sign-up is required, and participants can begin the trail by scanning any of the QR codes.
Councillor Rachel Eden, Lead Member for Education and Public Health said: “I’m delighted that the Council will be offering this free dinosaur safari to Reading families this summer.
“I hope our young people–and maybe some of those less young–will enjoy this fun way of learning in our beautiful green space and spending time together.”
