Berkshire Vision provides vital practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families in Berkshire.
They offer a busy sport and activities programme for their members and need volunteers to help. As a volunteer you can focus on the sport or activity that interests you. They are looking for a number of volunteers to assist with: tandem cycling, football, golf, running, dragon boating, swimming, tennis and more.
The time commitment varies and is very flexible as they have sports and activities happening all the time. If you are looking for a regular time to volunteer Berkshire Vision also has a social club on Tuesdays and Fridays!
Reading Mencap is a local charity that was founded in 1962 with the aim to provide support so that individuals with learning disabilities and their families can lead a full and active life in their community!
They are looking for enthusiastic, patient, caring volunteers to help them run their Performing Arts group. You will be helping adults with a learning disability take part in various performing arts sessions, such as: drama, singing, poetry, dance, story writing, prop making, drumming and seeing plays at a local theatre.
Have fun whilst making a huge impact on a vulnerable person’s life. The sessions run on 2 Thursday evenings a month, between 7:30 and 9:00pm.
Trust House Reading are a charity based in Reading which offers counselling, therapy,
and emotional and practical support to people of all ages and genders affected by sexual abuse.
They are looking to recruit Trustees. These trustees will help form a new board dedicated to supporting the charity. You will play an active role in developing the strategic direction of the charity and provide guidance to ensure the charity continues to support anyone affected by sexual abuse in the Thames Valley area.
A genuine interest in learning about our charity and our services within the local community is essential. Specific qualifications are not necessarily required and we welcome applicants with lived experience.
