This is a fantastic opportunity to have some fun whilst making a huge impact on a vulnerable person’s life.
Casualties Union is a charity whose volunteers spare time to train and practise casualty simulation.
The Reading Branch are seeking volunteers to help their work creating the illusion of illness or injury, from a faint to a heart attack, from a splinter to a protruding broken bone.
We study how the victim would behave, acting with appropriate posture, facial expression and speech.
You will learn about acting medical conditions and about special effects makeup.
Makeup includes materials you can find in your kitchen all the way up to Silicone and Gelatine prosthetics of a quality used in the film and TV industry.
No previous knowledge or skills regarding casualty simulation is required as you will receive training on acting, make-up and staging.
On-going training sessions are held in Reading, fortnightly, 8pm to 10pm.
Attending the training is optional and a full induction will be given.
