Enrych Berkshire is an organisation that provides people with disabilities extra support to help them to enjoy hobbies, interests and activities of their choosing.
They are recruiting a volunteer to join them to help one of their members keep attending their local coffee group. The member lives in the Upper Bucklebury area in West Berkshire and is a very friendly, visually impaired lady who uses a wheelchair.
This opportunity is ideal for socially confident volunteers and Enrych can provide support and training to help.
Support once a week or fortnight would be fantastic.
The Berkshire Reptile and Amphibian Group (BRAG) runs a patrol each year to help toads crossing Priest Hill (Road) at Farley Hill in Swallowfield.
They have now helped 13,176 toads to cross since 2009!
They would appreciate more volunteers joining them who can patrol on various evenings and help protect the toads crossing the road each night.
Volunteers will also be required to take notes and monitor the numbers of male (smaller) and female (larger) toads, plus frogs and newts crossing the road.
It would be appreciated if volunteers could agree to a regular weekly slot for the few months when migration occurs, which they are estimating to be from mid-February to early April.
Support U helps anyone with a situation due to their sexuality or gender identity. They support the whole family, not just the person who identifies as LGBT+ and in-house they offer caseworkers, counselling and groups. Something for everyone.
Currently, they are seeking volunteers to assist with their monthly groups. Volunteers will play a vital role in helping to foster a welcoming and safe space for all those attending. This will involve practical tasks to help set up the space as well as talking to attendees and encouraging them to get involved in the group activities should they wish to.
Volunteers will be given training on how to manage the groups and be provided with guidelines that are set out on how Support U expects their groups to be run.
