NYAS, the National Youth Advocacy Service, was founded by an independent social worker in 1979.
They are a non-profit organisation that ensures that the wishes and feelings of care-experienced young people are expressed and acted upon.
The aim of this is to improve their situation, and to help them build a better future.
Could you volunteer and make a difference to a young person in care?
NYAS are currently recruiting volunteers as Independent Visitors which will provide support and friendship to a young person in care.

The role includes a visit once a month for a few hours. All training, DBS and costs covered.

The British Red Cross has been helping millions of people in the UK and around the world get the support they need when a crisis strikes.
Right now they are seeking Independent Living Service Volunteers.

The service operates from Monday to Friday, 1.30pm to 5pm, and 5pm to 8.30pm.
They are also looking for someone who can double as part of the crew supporting discharges home from the emergency department of the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
