For 60 years, the National Childbirth Trust has worked to ensure all parents-to-be and new parents feel supported, informed and confident.
They are seeking a volunteer to join their Reading Branch as a Nearly New Sale Coordinator, you will lead a team of volunteers to help plan and organise the fantastic Nearly New Sale events, making them accessible for every parent.
The right volunteer for this role will have to be confident with leading and motivating a team of other volunteers, with a strong level of communication and event management skills.
The Reading Green Wellbeing Network is a network of local community gardens, horticultural therapy groups, and nature-based activity providers who offer activities to improve people’s wellbeing in and around Reading.
Currently, they are seeking a volunteer to shadow and assist their current Treasurer.
The role includes tasks such as: reconciling monthly accounts with bank statements, proofreading monthly reports and end-of-year accounts and more.
Skills required would include financial literacy such as the ability to understand bank statements, accounts, and financial planning, and the ability to communicate with others about financial matters.
In return, you’d gain experience in the field of financial administration for a local not-for-profit organisation.
Trust House Reading are a small charity based in Reading which offers counselling, therapy,
and emotional and practical support to people of all ages and genders affected by rape and
sexual abuse.
They are looking for more helpline volunteers. No previous helpline experience is necessary as training and on-going support will be provided.
Volunteers will be ensuring that calls are answered promptly, providing callers with emotional support, relevant information and signposting as relevant to the call.
Weekday availability. Excellent listening skills are essential along with being caring, non-judgmental, impartial, supportive and respectful.
