Berkshire Women’s Aid in an organisation that provides support and advocacy to anyone that comes to them experiencing domestic abuse.
They are seeking Refuge Support Volunteers, you will join a great and supportive team in one of their refuges. They have a range of roles available and aim to make the most of the skills that volunteers bring with them.
Here are some of the available roles you could assist with: befriending, accompanying residents to appointments/groups, sorting through and distributing donations, gardening/mowing, coffee mornings and much more.
Berkshire Vision provides vital practical and friendly support, sport and activities to visually impaired children and adults, and their families in Berkshire.
They offer a busy sport and activities programme for their members and need volunteers to help.
As a volunteer you can either focus on the sport or activity that interests you, or maybe you feel able to volunteer across several activities.
They are looking for volunteers to assist with: tandem cycling, football, golf, running, dragon boating, swimming, tennis and more.
The time commitment varies and is very flexible as they have sports and activities happening all the time. If you are looking for a regular time to volunteer Berkshire Vision also has a lunch club on Tuesdays and Fridays, or you can choose to volunteer at their other activities on a more ad hoc basis.
Nuclear Information Service is an independent, not-for-profit research organisation.
They investigate the UK nuclear weapons programme and publish accurate and reliable information to stimulate informed debate on disarmament and related issues.
They are currently seeking a volunteer to join their small team to help with a variety of office tasks. The right volunteer for this role will have to be a confident IT user, comfortable using a range of software packages, and have a good standard of spoken and written English.
Shifts will be four hours long on Tuesdays, starting at either 10.30am or 1.30pm. Tasks would include: Updating their website through WordPress, updating their databases and spreadsheets, doing internet research, preparing mailings and more.
