BLUEBIRD carers in Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell marked Valentine’s Day by delivering thoughtful gifts and flowers to customers they support at home.
Valentine’s Day, marked last week, is often associated with romantic love.
But for many people receiving care, says the care provider, the day represents something far simpler and far more powerful – companionship, connection and knowing that someone cares.

Throughout the week, Bluebird carers spent time with customers reflecting on what love, care and relationships truly mean.
When customers were asked what makes them feel cared for, the responses were simple: “Someone sitting with me,” and, “company.”
The reflections served as a reminder that care is defined more by presence than presents, says the company.
Rebecca Hawkins, managing director of Bluebird Care, said: “Days like Valentine’s Day highlight something we see every single day in care – that feeling valued and connected matters enormously to wellbeing.
“For many of the people we support, it’s not about grand gestures.

“It’s about knowing someone will visit, take the time to sit, listen, and share a moment with them.
“Our carers understand how much these interactions mean.
A simple conversation, a shared memory or a small act of kindness can have a profound impact.”
