THE UNIVERSITY of Reading’s subject rankings have risen once again in the Complete University Guide.

It is now placed at the top of the league for two of its subjects following the publication of the guide on Tuesday, June 10.

Its overall ranking is 36 in the UK, maintaining the University’s position in the top 40 universities, out of 130 ranked.

The University is the fifth highest ranked university in south-east England, having risen 20 places to 36, for graduate prospects on track, meaning that graduates are increasingly content that their activity fits with their future plans.

Seven subjects across arts and sciences feature in the top ten this year, up from six last year, including Speech & Language Therapy, which rose three places to first, and Land & Property Management which maintained its place at the top of its ranking.

Elsewhere Building rose a place to second, Agriculture & Forestry jumped five places to third, Geology ranked seventh, down Food Science rose four places to seventh, and Art & Design rose a place to ninth.

Reading has also seen rankings improvements in other subject areas such as Archaeology, Architecture, Computer Science, Education, English, Marketing, Medical Technology and Bioengineering, and Psychology.

Meanwhile Business and Management, Economics, and Law all held their positions from last year’s ranking.

Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading, said: “I am proud that the University of Reading has achieved such strong results in the Complete University Guide 2026.

“With seven subjects now ranked in their respective top ten nationally, these rankings demonstrate our continued commitment to academic excellence.

“Our improvements across multiple disciplines, from Agriculture & Forestry to Computer Science, Art & Design to Psychology and more, reflect the dedication of our staff and students in delivering world-class education and study.”
