THE UNIVERSITY of Reading has risen further up the ranks in the Guardian University Guide.
The university is now ranked 35th, having risen nine places since the 2024 rankings last year.
The Guardian University Guide ranks institutions by subjects, rating student satisfaction, staff numbers, and career prospects to produce an overall ranking.
This year’s result saw a rise in student satisfaction with both teaching and feedback, as well as graduate career prospects.
The University of Reading’s Earth and Marine Sciences course ranked fifth, Nutrition and Food Science ranked sixth, Graphic Design seventh, English in ninth, and its Animal Science and Agriculture courses in tenth.
Elsewhere its Anthropology and Archaeology courses ranked tenth; Geography eleventh; Construction, Surveying and Planning twelfth; Zoology nineteenth; and Languages and Linguistics twentieth.
Professor Parveen Yaqoob, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading, said: “This new ranking confirms Reading’s reputation among the top universities in the UK.
“Our global standing for excellence is reflected across a number of subject areas, including earth sciences, agriculture, and food and nutrition, and our strength in depth of academics and students in many other subjects, such as English, law, psychology, computer science and biological science subjects.
“University league tables help to provide a flavour of an institution but for those who are considering studying anywhere we always recommend visiting us at Open Days to see our beautiful campus and to chat to our staff and students.”
