A CHARITY is set to showcase its work this weekend as part of Water Fest 2023.
Reading University of Third Age (u3a) will occupy a stand at Forbury Gardens on Saturday, June 10, where visitors can find out about the opportunities they offer to those who have retired.
Described as a learning co-operative where those who have stopped full-time work can learn from others, the charity holds educational sessions in disciplines as wide-ranging as art, modern languages, square dancing and table tennis.
On the day, there will also be demonstrations throughout the day by the charity’s Singing for Pleasure group, and all are welcome to come and join.
Last year, the charity celebrated its 40th birthday, with members organising exhibitions and interactive sessions across the town, including musical and Tai Chi demonstrations on Broad Street.
