TWO MEN from Reading have been jailed for drug supply offences following a hearing at Reading Crown Court.
El Rashied Ahamed, aged 29 and of Kinson Road, Tilehurst; and Cordel Fisher, aged 26 and of Garnet Hill, Reading, pleaded guilty on September 18.
Ahamed pleaded guilty to a count each of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
He also admitted one count of acquiring criminal property.
Fisher pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply heroin and one count of acquiring criminal property.
Both were sentenced at the same court on Friday, December 6– Ahamed to six years’ imprisonment and Fisher to three years’ imprisonment.
It follows an incident which took place on September 17, when officers attempted to stop a grey Vauxhall Meriva.
Fisher, who was driving, and Ahamed, who was a passenger, fled from the car and made off down Kinson Road.
Fisher was detained in a front garden in Romsey Road, where around 274 wraps of heroin and crack were recovered.
A search of the vehicle also recovered cash and an iPhone, analysis of which found that the device was being used to send multiple messages to a large number of people advertising drugs for sale.
A warrant was executed at Ahamed’s home, where further cash and an iPhone were also seized, while a further search of Fisher’s address uncovered a quantity of cash.
