READING FC WOMEN are in FA Cup action this weekend with a visit to Tottenham Hotspur in the fifth round.

On the back of the latest international break, the Royals will be aiming to turn their fortunes around after a troubling few months.

The Royals are perilously close to the danger zone in the Women’s Super League more than halfway through the campaign.

They currently sit in 11th place on seven points, just one point above bottom side Leicester City who have a game in hand to catch up on.

Kelly Chambers’ team have picked up just two league victories this season, one of which came against Tottenham at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

In what was arguably Reading’s most complete performance of the season thus far, they ensured that they added three points to their tally.

Amy Turner’s own goal in the 12th minute proved to be the only action to separate the sides.

Spurs have had struggles of their own this campaign and are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation scrap having lost five consecutive league matches.

The north London side bolstered their chances of survival by making the acquisition of seasoned goalscorer Beth England from Chelsea during the transfer window.

England has an impressive scoring record in the WSL where she scored 45 times in 99 matches for Chelsea throughout seven seasons in west London.

After struggling for regular game time, she made the move across the capital and has made a flying start for her new club having scored four goals in five games in all competitions, including three league goals.

After their FA Cup meeting this Sunday, Reading will travel to face Spurs again before the end of the season when they face their final away trip of the season against them on Sunday, May 21.
