THE BEST beer, fabulous food, and superior service- we’re looking for the pub which has it all.
Reading Today and Reading Pubwatch are seeking nominations for our Pub of the Year competition!
The event will see some of the boroughs best pubs judged by a select panel, with the cream of the crop being featured in regular articles in Reading and Wokingham Today.
We’re looking for the best traditional pub- not a bar or restaurant- which will be presented with the award in a ceremony later this year.
Eligible pubs can be submitted by emailing: news+pub@rdg.today
Submissions close on Friday, September 27.
More about Pubwatch:
Reading Pubwatch is a voluntary organisation comprised of venues, owners, and stakeholders in the night-time economy, promoting high standards of safety and service in the town’s bars and pubs.
It was behind the launch of the Best Bar None accreditation scheme for venues in Reading, which was part of its focus on a close working partnership between stakeholders in the night-time economy.
This means regular communication between Thames Valley Police, Reading Council, Street Pastors, First Stop First Aid, the Business Improvement District, and venues.
It also covered the sponsorship by the Business Improvement Districts of safety kits for venues which included supplies of anti-drink-spiking equipment, spike testing kits, and tourniquet packs.
