A TILEHURST brewery celebrates its birthday this weekend.
Double-Barrelled Brewery on Stadium Way turns three years old this month.
To celebrate, three limited edition beers will be unveiled at a special taproom event on Saturday, November 13.
Husband and wife team Mike and Luci Clayton-Jones have worked in collaboration with several independent breweries, including Norwegian producers Amundsen and London’s Boxcar Brewery.
Head brewer Mr Clayton-Jones said: “These beers showcase the breadth of styles that we love to brew and we can’t wait to share them.”
The centrepiece beer, Everything but the Bulbs, is an Imperial Stout inspired by Reading’s three B’s: beer, biscuits and bulbs. The team worked on the brew with Wokingham-based companies Elusive Brewing and Siren Craft Brew. It uses ingredients traditionally associated with biscuit production, including treacle and golden syrup, to make what is described as a rich and indulgent drink.
Managing director Mrs Clayton-Jones thanked the people and businesses of Reading who have supported the brewery since they began.
“Our three year anniversary is a fantastic excuse to celebrate and share the progress we have made,” she added.
