Reading FC manager labelled two of his players’ behaviour as ‘unacceptable’ in their defeat away to Rotherham United.
After Lewis Wing’s stunning free-kick put Reading in front, the Royals lost their lead after two quick goals from the hosts after the restart.
Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan was then sent off for reacting to a Roterham player in a clash which also involved Andre Garcia.
Speaking to BBC Berkshire radio after the match, Selles said: “It’s a clear mistake from both of them and they have both let us down.
“It doesn’t matter who got the second yellow. It was Kelvin on the referee’s diagonal so I think he thinks that he pushed him harder.
“I think we need to learn from our mistakes.
“As soon as the opposition player feels contact he goes down. It’s not acceptable from Kelvin (Ehibhatiomhan) or Andre (Garcia).”
The Royals have struggled on the road for a number of years, a problem that continues to plague them having picked up just one point away from home so far this season.
Selles continued: “Today we gave ourselves the platform in the first-half.
“We were the team we wanted to be but it’s not enough.
“We need to take responsibility and try to find strategies, mentalistes and football situations to make us win away matches.”
