The Reading FC Community Trust has rea\zcted to the news that Rob Couhig has completed the purchase of the club from Dai Yongge.
The Community Trust took on the ownership of Reading FC Women after Dai Yongge decided to cut funding of the women’s team last year.
That meant that the former Women’s Super League side now play in the Southern Region Women’s League and have been kept alive due to funding from the Community Trust.
They released a statement on X which reads: “The club lives on. And it is thanks to the passion, persistence and sheer power of its community.
“As a Trust, we know this community is special. We work at the heart of it, every single day. You know who you are…thank you.
“This positive news marks the end of a seriously difficult and, at times, deeply concerning period for all connected to Reading Football Club – the staff, the players, its sponsors and partners and most pertinently its loyal supporters who have continued to wear the club’s crest with pride throughout.
“Football is never a smooth ride. So we know more ups and downs will naturally lie ahead for our club. However, we all welcome the start of a new and exciting era for the Royals.
“Everyone at the Trust would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to Chairman Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair. We are looking forward to working closely with you in our dedication to changing and improving lives in our local community.”
