A CHARITY in Berkshire is set to receive a grant from Children in Need.

Thames Valley Positive Support has been named as the recipient of a grant worth 75,000 from the BBC appeal.

The funding means that they will be able to provide more tailored services for young people and families that they support.

The grant will be spread over three years.

The news comes in the wake of the news that the charity’s podcast, Positive Support, garnered its fourth podcast awards nomination in 12 months.

Sarah Macadam, CEO of TVPS, said “This funding will be vital to ensuring that no child in our area is negatively impacted by an HIV diagnosis within their family and that children from families affected by HIV have access to the same opportunities as their peers, from negative families.

“We want our young people and families to thrive and with the support of BBC Children in Need, we will be able to support them to do just that.”

TVPS has been giving support to those affected by HIV in the Thames Valley area since 1985.
