All three Thames Valley Kings teams were in action this past weekend as they hosted a triple-header featuring teams from Sussex Bears and Sheffield Steelers.
In the Premier Division match-up with the first team, the Kings faced a strong Steelers team who featured many past and current Paralympians including Maddie Thompson and George Bates – the bout was another high-octane back and forth game as Steelers beat the Kings, 71-50.
Steelers, George Bates and Conn Nagel led the scoring with 19 points each, and Reece Barker was top-scoring for Kings with 17 points.
Earlier in the day, Kings 2nd and 3rd teams faced Sussex Bears 1st and 2nd teams respectively.
In the opening game, Kings 3rds faced Bears 2nds in Division 3 South and out-saw them with a convincing win 49-16 to keep their promotion dreams alive. Peter Rapley with 15 points was the top scorer in that game for Kings.
Kings 2nds put up a fight against Division leaders and promotion-chasing Bears 1st team in the Division Two South clash, Bears won the game, 44-25. Yas Ibesaine was the top score for Kings with seven points in the game.
