THAMES Valley Gay Chorus is set to hold its summer concert later this month.
The chorus will be taking to the stage at Reading Rep Theatre to perform a number of hits from the likes of Chappell Roan, Meghan Trainor, and Conchita Wurst, as well as musicals such as Dear Evan Hanson– some of which feature new arrangements.
The event comes ahead of the chorus’ planned appearances at Reading Pride in August and the inaugural Windsor & Eton Pride later in July.
TVGC was started in 2003 as Reading Gay Men’s Chorus, a dedicated LGBTQIA+ choir where everyone is welcome to come to a rehearsal.
Musical Director – Christopher Wray began his musical training attending the William Appleby Music School in Doncaster studying both the cello and tuba and went on to read music at Trinity College of Music.
He graduated with a first-class degree in Vocal Performance and was awarded the Vocal Department Gold Medal for his work within the department in his final year and his contribution to vocal consorts and choral work.
He is also currently the Associate Musical Director of the London Gay Men’s Chorus where he is working to establish the first LGBTQ+ Youth Chorus in the UK.
Thames Valley Gay Choir’s Summer Concert is taking place at Reading Rep Theatre from 6.30pm on Saturday, July 19.
