THAMES Valley Buses has announce the introduction of 8 new single deck buses to help improve customer experience around Maidenhead, Ascot and Windsor.
The new environmentally friendly buses, with the latest low emission Euro VI engines, went into use from September 1.
The buses feature high back seats, coffee-shop style wood effect flooring, and skylights for an enhanced onboard experience.
They also feature seat back USB-A and USB-C charging ports and free wifi.
They all have next stop audio and visual announcements, and distinctive purple branding that feature Windsor Castle and Maidenhead Bridge to represent the area.
The buses will be introduced on Thames Valley Buses high profile route 1/1A that runs through Windsor Great Park between Dedworth, Windsor and Ascot, local Maidenhead route 7 to Woodlands Park, trunk route 16 between Maidenhead and Windsor, route 227 which runs between Maidenhead, Waltham St Lawrence and Twyford and route 228 between Maidenhead, Hurley and Henley.
Simon Fisher, General Manager of Thames Valley Buses, said: “As a locally owned and managed company, we are delighted to be able to bring these brand-new buses to the people of Windsor and Maidenhead.”
“This significant investment follows the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s revamp of financially supported services in April this year that saw routes enhanced following public consultation.
“Our new vehicles go above and beyond the minimum requirement to demonstrate how serious we are about working together to transform customer journeys and encourage more people to choose the bus.”
