A THAMES Valley charity is inviting members of the public to host coronation parties and events as part of a royal fundraiser.
Thames Hospice has announced it has kicked off the Coronation Big Lunch, through which it invites residents to party in the name of supporting the charity.
The charity suggests cake stalls, raffles, and jumble sales as well as traditional or not-so-traditional fete games such as guess the weight of the cake, lucky dips, and pin the crown on the King.
It is also offering resources such as a free fundraising pack to help potential party-goers get their gatherings starting off with a swing.
Claire Redrup, head of community and events at Thames Hospice, said: “We are deeply proud of our long-held association with The Royal Family, from the moment we welcomed our first patients more than 36 years ago.
“We are only able to provide our services free of charge to all those who need us thanks to the generosity of our local community, and we really hope our community will respond by supporting us and hosting a Big Lunch, whilst celebrating the Coronation with neighbours, friends, and family, sharing food and fun together.”
