A TEENAGER was sexually assaulted in Reading town centre and police are appealing for witnesses to the late-night attack.
Around midnight on Thursday, August 31, the woman was waiting at a bus stop on St Mary’s Butts, near to the market stalls. The stop is opposite The Boundary pub and, on the other side of the road, Reading Minster church. It serves the Purple 17 and Lion 4/X4 routes.
Thames Valley Police said that a man touched her in an inappropriate way over her clothing.
He is described as white, in his twenties or thirties and around 5ft 7in. He had brown hair with a beard, and was wearing baggy trousers, a yellow top. He was carrying a backpack.
Police investigator Charis Griffiths, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anybody who witnessed this to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
