POLICE were called to Reading town centre this afternoon after an incident involving teenagers.

Reading Today understands it involved youngsters heading to the town after schools had broken up for the Easter holidays on Thursday, March 28.

Eyewitnesses said there was a fight and someone was being treated in Chain Street close to the rear entrance of Heelas/John Lewis, and they had blood on their fingers. This has not been confirmed by official sources.

Thames Valley Police said a teenager had been arrested on suspicion of affray.

A spokesperson said: “It was a public order incident involving a group of children”.

No further details are currently available.
