Teenager among two arrested after man assaulted on Oxford Road – appeal for witnesses

A MAN in his 40s is in hospital with a head injury following an assault in Reading on Tuesday evening.

Now Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident took place around 11.30pm in the Oxford Road on August 10.

The man was taken to hospital, where he is currently being treated.

Police have arrested a 34-year-old man from Reading on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and a 13-year-old boy from Tilehurst on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Both have been released on police bail.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dominique Roe, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this assault, or anyone who may have information about what happened, to please come forward.

“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210358232.

“Alternatively, you can report anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
