A TEENAGER was attacked in Pangbourne earlier this week and police are treating the incident as an assault occasioning GBH.
The victim was at the Dolphin Centre in Whitchurch Road where he was followed by two strangers to the nearby Pangbourne Meadows.
Once there, they punched the boy in the face several times, causing serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
One of the attackers is thought to be 15, around 5ft 8in and of average build. He had black, flat hair with a side parting, was wearing a black top with a white skull logo, and tracksuit bottoms.
Thames Valley Police has released an image of someone they believe could help their investigation into the attack, which took place around 2pm on Wednesday, September 6. ++UPDATED++ Police have now identified the person and are no longing appealing for help to identify him.++
A 14-year-old boy from Tilehurst has been arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent, and remains in police custody.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Izzy Denis, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a teenager where he sustained GBH level injuries.
“We are also asking anyone with any other information in relation to this incident to come forward.
