A STORM is coming to Silchester over the next two weekends, and it will be highly localised with a touch of the surreal.
Members of the Silchester Players are presenting a new take on William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
The famous story sees Prospero use magic to conjure a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck, including the King of Naples. Will the path of true love prevail, and will the ship’s passengers escape the island?
The play is performed on Friday, September 23, Saturday, September 24, Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1, with curtain up at 7.30pm, and tickets cost £10 or £8 for concessions.
It takes place at Silchester Village hall in Little London Road.
The group is also preparing to its pantomime, which will this year be Alice in Wonderland.
Auditions take place on Monday, September 26, again at the village hall.
