THE MET Office has issued a Yellow severe weather warning across most of the UK ahead of the arrival of Storm Agnes later this week.
From Wednesday, Storm Agnes is set to see strong winds across the country, with forecasts predicting gusts as fast as 60mph to affect inland areas.
Winds of this speed bring the potential for travel disruption, as bridges could close and damage from the wind causes problems on train and road routes.
Heavy Rain is also expected in Scotland and parts of northern England.
While the weather warnings issued by the Met Office do not cover Reading, the majority of the UK is expected to be affected.
The Yellow severe weather warning stretches from Plymouth in the south West up to Peterborough, extending north to cover the rest of the British Isles.
The storm is expected to move northeast through the UK on Wednesday, September 27, and into the following day.
