A REGENERATION project in the centre of Reading is set to see new additions to its retail offerings.

Station Hill has announced that it will be welcoming two new outlets on its concourse following the signing of a new lease with brands Angelos and 1650 Coffee Co.

Italian-style restaurant Angelos has signed on for a 15-year lease for one of the units on the ground floor at Friar’s Walk at ONE Station Hill.

It adapts its offering throughout the day from being a casual café in the morning to a neighbourhood restaurant in the evening, featuring an á la carte menu and wine list.

It will also function as a deli serving Italian produce and wine.

The venue is owned by local restaurateur Angelo, known for his acclaimed ‘Ruchetta’ restaurant which has been open in Wokingham for more than two decades.

The new Station Hill venue will offer a calendar of events, including wine tasting.

Also coming to the site will be 1650 Coffee Co, which will be the latest venture by the founder of Cafe Yolk.

It will neighbour the Siren Craft Brew Unit, also on Friar’s Walk, and offer artisan coffee as well as fresh pastries, sandwiches, and cakes.

It will also serve a number of alcoholic drinks, including signature coffee-inspired cocktails.

Evan Reynolds, Development Director at Lincoln Property Company UK, said: “Angelos and 1650 Coffee Co perfectly embody the vibrant, high-quality offering we are bringing to Station Hill.

“Their arrival underscores our commitment to delivering a best-in-class destination in the heart of Reading.

“We look forward to seeing those living and working in the area, as well as visitors to the town, explore these new eateries which are set to open later this year.

“With Phases 1 and 2 of Station Hill now complete and an exciting events strategy in place for 2025 across the estate, occupier interest is stronger than ever–we are hoping to be able to share further tenant updates soon.”

Angelo Colao, Managing Director of Angelos, said: “We are exceptionally excited to be bringing Angelos to Station Hill and joining the vibrant community of the area.

“Our vision is to create a welcoming space where guests can enjoy the true essence of Italian dining—whether it’s a morning coffee, a leisurely meal or an evening of fine wine and great food pairings.

“We look forward to sharing our passion for authentic Italian cuisine and exceptional wines with Reading locals and visitors alike. We can’t wait to open our doors and add a taste of Italy to Station Hill.”

Sunny, the founder of 1650 Coffee Co, said: “I’m incredibly excited to introduce 1650 Coffee Co to Station Hill and to become a part of this growing community.

“Having spent the last decade at Café Yolk, I’ve always believed that great coffee and good food bring people together. 1650 Coffee Co is about more than just great coffee and food. It’s about community.

“We’re proud to showcase a selection of locally made products and produce, supporting the talented artisans and creators around us.”

They explained: “Whether you’re a resident of Ebb&Flow, a commuter passing through Station Hill, or simply someone who appreciates a fantastic cup of coffee, we can’t wait to welcome you in.

“This journey has been one of passion, dedication, and excitement, and I truly look forward to sharing it with you.

“Most of all, we want to create a welcoming space where everyone feels at home; we can’t wait to open our doors and get to know you all–see you soon at 1650 Coffee Co.”
