THE stars in the night sky are the focus of a new book aimed at children wanting to gaze in wonder at nature’s light fantastic.
Gem and I, And The Starry Night Sky has been devised by Lucy Silver and Rosie Chomet for the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
The group wants to help people discover the beauty of dark, starry night skies over the Royal County, and says the book is the perfect inspiration.
It takes the story of Gem, a girl who wants to see the stars at night.
Available for a donation of at least £5, profits will support CPRE’s work to promote, enhance and protect the countryside, from soil to sky.
“It’s a magical bedtime read to inspire children with the wonder of the night sky,” said CPRE’s dark skies campaigner Emma Marrington.
