Squire’s Garden Centres in Hare Hatch was proud to support The Piggott School, Wargrave, in creating their beautiful “Garden of Reflection” – a meaningful school initiative designed to promote mental wellbeing, personal development and a calming space for students to enjoy.
Developed and maintained by the school’s gardening club, the garden has been a student-led project, encouraging hands-on involvement and a stronger connection to nature. As part of the initiative, the garden was exhibited at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2025, offering the students a unique opportunity to share their vision on a national stage.
Squire’s Hare Hatch donated a selection of herbs and loaned benches and cushions to help enhance the display garden for the show. The pupils and their teachers – Mrs Alexander, Headteacher, and Mr Stone, Project Lead – also visited the centre in the lead-up to the event, where they learned about plant care and design from the centre’s expert plant team.

It’s so inspiring to see young people getting involved in gardening, both for their own wellbeing and the wider benefit of their school community. The Garden of Reflection has returned to the school grounds and will continue to provide a peaceful space for pupils and staff alike as well as a source of pride for all involved.
