Earley and Woodley Conservatives welcomed Conservative Party Chairman, Lord Dominic Johnson to Sonning for a discussion and Q&A session with local party members.
The event, also served as a belated New Year celebration, and a thank you to those who helped in the recent by-election victory in Shinfield.
Lord Johnson, a former local resident, shared his experiences and observations just eight weeks into his new role as Party Chairman.
He provided a personal view of the challenges and opportunities facing the party, as well as his thoughts on how the Conservative party hopes to support constituencies and refine policy initiatives moving forward.
“Returning to the area and reconnecting with familiar and friendly faces was a pleasure. What a great evening, what lovely people,” said Lord Johnson. “Hearing directly from local members and sharing our vision for the future of the party is particularly important. We must continue our work to strengthen our grassroots and deliver for communities across the country.”
The event allowed members to pose questions on pressing national and local issues and in a lively and constructive forum.
Attendees also celebrated the New Year in true Sonning style, with homemade refreshments and a warm sense of camaraderie. A
