Designs have been revealed for a new brewery bar in Reading town centre.

Recently it was reported that Finchampstead-based Siren Craft Brew would be opening a bar in Friar Street later this year.

Designs for what it could look like once opened have been revealed as work begins ready for a planned opening in May.

Visuals show the brewery bar having a modern feel, with floral decorations and Siren Craft’s trademark logo.

Explaining the vision for the bar, a spokesperson for Siren Craft Brew said: “The idea behind this expansion is to create a flagship home for our brand.

“Along with the beer line-up, which will include guest beers from all around, we’re also investing in a high-spec kitchen and top team to deliver tasty, street food inspired accompaniments in a space unlike any in the area.

“We want to create a home to showcase independent producers of all kinds.

“We don’t want this project just to be for beer drinkers. First and foremost it should be a place that you and your family and friends, and their friends, want to spend time.

“So wines, cocktails and all kinds of non-alcoholic options will be given just as much attention as the beers.”

The spokesperson added there will be space outside so customers can enjoy pints in the summer.”

The brewery has applied to hold a number of activities at the bar, including alcohol sales, the sale of food and drink until midnight, and for permission to host live bands and play music.

They have applied to sell alcohol from 10am to midnight Friday to Sunday, and 10am to 11pm Monday to Thursday. For late night refreshments, such as food and soft drinks, they want to sell that from 11pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Recorded music would be played from 10am to 11pm from Monday until Thursday, from 10am until 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, and between 10am and midnight on Sundays.

They also want to have live music from 10am until 11pm between Sunday and Thursday, and from 10am until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
