Shaolin Tigers Martial Arts Club, based in Wokingham, hosted their first interclub competition at their premises in November.

Several local clubs rallied together to put their competitors forward as 44 bouts took place at STMA’s HQ at the Lawrence Centre in Oaklands Park.

The cubs involved included STMA Academy Reading, Newbury Muay Thai, Knowle Green Martial Arts, Batcave, 9 Spirres Muay Thai and DC Muay Thai.

The fights included a mix of Muay Thai and boxing rules with an emphasis on controlled contact bouts. A mix of both juniors and adult bouts took place with ages ranging from six – 50.

The Wokingham club fielded 25 fighters, the majority taking part in their first experience of competitive action including: Heidi Skeates, Sophie Robertson, Mia Connolly, Alex Pickup, Zaki Gunby, Dima Chesnov, Eytan Pearson, Joshua Smith, Andre Duesbury, Felix Bain, Mark Tracy, Aiden Duesbury, Daniel Rawlinson, Nicholas Millington, Ethan Marihoho, Conor Cantlon, Daniel McCrudden, Harry Trepadene, Aaron Duesbury, Daniel Negroni, Dymtro Nachas, Ben Andrews, Ashley Price, Chinnawat Anuwat and Dean Taheny.
