A mural in memory of murdered teenager Olly Stephens has been revealed at the school he attended.

Olly was tragically stabbed to death at Bugs Bottom in Caversham aged 13 on January 3, 2021. He has been remembered by his family as a loving and charming boy who was taken to soon.

Now, a mural by the artist Peachy has been revealed at the school he used to attend Emmer Green Primary School.

A post on Emmer Green Primary’s Facebook page said: “The artist Peachy has been in to school over the half-term holiday to paint a mural in memory of Olly Stephens out in the playground.

“We had an outdoor assembly to explain to the pupils, and they were able to share their knowledge of Peachy and ask questions about the artwork.”

The mural was revealed to children at the school on the first day after half term on Monday, June 3. The artwork contains a boy with a blue balloon with a rose, a rainbow, a butterfly and a flower petal at the school.

A sketch also shows a boy in the rain with the words ‘music moves you’ and ‘you can do it with music!’

Other photos taken by Peachy show Amanda Stephens, Olly’s mum, with the mural.

There will be a public exhibition of the artwork at the school on Grove Road, Emmer Green on Saturday, June 22.
