Reading FC fans have started a donation page designed to supply fans tickets for the upcoming home games to help the club in their current financial crisis.
The Royals are currently facing a shortfall this month which means that they do not currently have enough funds to cover their bills.
If they are unable to pay HMRC and pay staff’s wages on time, then the club will face another points deduction which could lead to them being relegated from League One.
With the sale of the club still ongoing but with nothing currently close to being finalised, Reading’s survival in League One is of great importance for the future sale of the club.
Reading fan page Elm Park Royals has launched the donation service with all revenue being put into the club via ticket sales.
A statement from Sell Before We Dai reads: “If we do not have enough money for HMRC, we lose points. If we do not have ensign money to pay the staff, we lose points. If shortfalls persist, we lose points. Put bluntly, this shortfall could relegate us.
“We believe staying in League One is absolutely essential to our prospects of a sale, but we also think it is what our players, manager, staff and fans deserve.
“If you believe you can help facilitate any of the above, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us or STAR.
“Until then, the way you do your bit is to buy tickets. Turn up to save the club.”
