HE’S GOT a big bushy beard, wears a red suit and is very, very jolly … and he’s in Reading now.
Santa Claus has set up residency in Broad St. Mall, where he will be welcoming boys and girls in the run-up to Christmas.
No booking is necessary, and he will be welcoming visitors between Wednesday and Sunday, until Monday, December 18, when he will be there every day until Christmas Eve.
There is a £6 fee, which includes a gift. There will be opportunities to buy photo souvenirs and other merchandise as well.

Adding to the seasonal fun, there will be performances from choirs over the course of the month.
Last weekend, Reading Operatic Society made an appearance.
On Tuesdays December 12, 19, and Boxing Day, the Silver Tones Choir will perform at 1pm. On Saturday, December 16, The Barbarettes will be singing from 11am to 1pm.
Steven Connolly, general manager Broad St. Mall, is delighted to host the grotto.
“We are super excited to be welcoming families back again for another festive season,” he said.
“Not only can visitors come along to meet Santa, they will be able to listen to some great performances from local choirs, which is sure to get everyone into the spirit of Christmas.”
