AN AMATEUR dramatics society is set to welcome guests to its thrilling summer production.
Russell Players’ Mitigating Circumstances will be on show at Swallowfield Parish Hall on July 2, 5 and 9, and will take its audience on a journey to get to the bottom of a death.
Written by Juliet Devon, by arrangement with Lazy Bee Scripts, the play sees two friends get invited to the house of a lady called Emma, whose husband Simon had recently died – he had had a long-standing heart condition, so this was no surprise.
Keen to comfort the widow, they accept the invitation, but when Emma is called away for an unexpected appointment, it becomes apparent that the cause of Simon’s death wasn’t as straightforward as they had first thought.
Rehearsals have been in full swing, with an ebullient set and props complimenting what promises to be an enjoyable production.
Tickets are £15 and includes a light supper prior to the performance. They can be purchased online or over the phone.
Doors open at 7pm, with the show starting once the meal is finished.
