A HOSPITAL in Reading is asking patients to contact them only when necessary as it deals with an IT incident.

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has posted to social media to say that it is dealing with an IT incident causing disruption at the hospital.

The team there is advising patients to seek alternative health facilities wherever possible and to avoid contacting the trust while they respond.

Residents are encouraged to seek alternatives to their Emergency Department except in the case of serious and life-threatening emergencies.

The post to X, formerly Twitter, reads: “We are currently dealing with an IT incident affecting our Trust.
