STAFF at the Royal Berkshire Hospital are working with Thames Valley Police on an investigation after an incident in its car park yesterday afternoon.
The first floor of the multi-storey was closed to allow emergency crews to attend the scene.
It is understood the incident involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.
For much of last night (Thursday, March 13), police were on site for their investigation.
There were also visits from the fire brigade.
Thames Valley Police said in a statement: “We are currently on the scene of a serious collision involving one vehicle at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.”
The hospital remained open throughout.
Overnight, the car park has reopened and patients are urged to attend clinics as usual.
A spokesperson for the Royal Berkshire Hospital said: “We can confirm TVP are investigating an incident in the hospital car park and we are working closely with their officers to establish exactly what happened.
“The hospital remains open and the car park is now reopened so people who need to attend for appointments are asked to come as usual.”
It is understood that Thames Valley Police will release an update to its statement later today.
