THE ROYAL Berks Charity is marking a major milestone this year as it celebrates 30 years of supporting patients, families and NHS staff across Berkshire and South Oxfordshire.

Since its launch in 1996, the charity has stood alongside its local NHS, supporting the everyday moments, the major milestones, and everything in between at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

With the help of its incredible supporters, the charity has played a significant role in helping the Trust deliver outstanding care to patients across the community.

Over the past three decades, the generosity of residents, community groups, schools, faith groups and local businesses has enabled Royal Berks Charity to fund projects that go beyond core NHS budgets, working to enhance care, comfort and wellbeing for thousands of patients.

To mark its 30th anniversary, the charity has launched the 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal, which focuses on funding medical equipment that helps NHS teams work more efficiently and supports patients throughout treatment and recovery.

Thanks to the kindness of the local community, the charity has already funded equipment making a real difference, including a LiteGait machine for the Stroke Unit, helping patients regain mobility and independence following illness or injury.

But there is still much more the charity wants to do; from specialist therapy tools to advanced diagnostic technology, every donation helps deliver faster, more personalised care for patients who need it most, while supporting NHS staff to do their jobs as effectively as possible.

Throughout this year, the charity will reflect on the impact of the past 30 years while looking ahead to the future.

The anniversary year will feature stories from patients, NHS staff and supporters, along with a programme of fundraising events and awareness activities designed to bring the community together and inspire even more people to get involved.

Charity Director Jo Warrior said: “For 30 years, the people of Reading and the surrounding communities have been at the heart of our work.

“This anniversary is an opportunity for us to say a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has supported us through fundraising, volunteering or donating, and to highlight how, together, we can continue improving the care and experience for patients and staff at the Trust, today and for the future.”

As Royal Berks Charity celebrates this important milestone, supporters are encouraged to get involved by joining anniversary events, fundraising in their own way, or donating to the 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal to help improve care for generations to come.
