New Reading Football Club owner Rob Couhig has revealed the club’s new CEO after he officially completed his takeover of the club last week.
The American businessman revealed that former Wycombe Wanderers player Joe Jacobson will join the club as part of his team.
The pair linked up at Wycombe, where Couhig was chairman for five years.
Jacobson became a legend at Wycombe during a decade-long spell with the Chairboys.
The defender played a total of 344 league matches for them and netted 37 times as he represented them in League Two, League One and the Championship.
It had been reported last year that Couhig was keen to bring Jacobson to the Royals when he was first interested in buying the club.
After the long takeover saga was finally concluded last week, it appears that Jacobson will soon be officially announced as Reading’s new CEO with Couhig very keen to link up with one of his former players.
Couhig confirmed in an interview with BBC Sport last week that Jacobson will share the CEO role alongside himself.
Speaking on the EFL Today podcast, Jacobson said: “Obviously the takeover at Reading has happened and me and Rob (Couhig) have had a good relationship over a number of years.
“He’s asked me to be part of the club and help him work there and look after a lot of football stuff.
“The job spec is quite broad at the minute. I’m having meetings with the recruitment team and manager about signings and contracts but I[m also having meeting about selling cabins from the cark park.”
