READING motorists are plugged into meeting the government’s net zero targets.
A new survey claims the Reading service stations have the most rapid electric vehicle chargers.
The stations on the M4 have a total of 16 ultra-rapid chargers, more than any other in the country.
The study, conducted by experts at DriveElectric, says Reading motorists facing a long drive are less likely to come to a halt.
A spokesperson for the group which aims to help drivers reach net zero targets said: “ To avoid making a longer service station stop than needed, motorists might choose to use a rapid or ultra-rapid charger, depending on the battery size and charging capabilities of their car.
“At the Reading service station on the M4, there are 16 ultra-rapid chargers, all delivering over 100kWh of energy.”
Membury came out tenth best service station overall in the study which also looked at the number of EV chargers, the average price of EV charging facilities, the number of shops and food facilities.
