READING are looking to bounce back from their away loss at leaders Portsmouth when they host fellow relegation battlers Port Vale on Tuesday.
Having had their six game unbeaten run broken at Fratton Park, the Royals now have two huge home games to try and boost their League One survival hopes.
First up is Port Vale on Tuesday at the SCL in a rearranged fixture after the original match was abandoned in the 16th minute as thousands of Reading fans took to the pitch to protest against club owner Dai Yongge.
Reading fans gained international media coverage for their protests against the owner and support from the visiting Vale fans as they continue to pressure Dai Yongge to sell the club.
However, there will be no on pitch protest this time around with both sets of supporters being asked to hold up red cards to showm their disdain for the Royals owner.
Just four points separate the sides going into the game as Vale currently occupy 22nd, four places behind Reading but with three games in hand.
The Valiants were beaten in another relegation six pointer at the weekend in a five-goal contest away to Cheltenham Town.
Vale have been on a downwards slide and are now winless in their last seven games, losing five of those which has seen them drop down into the relegation places.
Ben Garrity is Vale’s top scorer so far this season with eight goals in 23 matches.
Ruben Selles confirmed that defender Jeriel Dorsett is set to be out with an injury for two to three weeks, while Sam Smith is going to be in contention to start having managed a substitute appearance against Pompey.
Reading fans will once again be protesting against the owner on Tuesday and are inviting both sets of supporters to hold up red cards to highlight football’s ownership problems.
Predicted Reading line-up: Button, Yiadom, Mbengue, Bindon, Mola, Savage, Wing, Knibbs, Azeez, Ehibhatiomhan, Smith
